To really experience the power of the scripture and how it is a written representative of God we need to look to prophecy. The non-believer will not understand what faith is nor feel compelled to exercise it if there is no foundation in the word. An atheist will only see the validity of scripture through the lens of prophecy. It is written, “I tell you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe I am.” (John 13:19; 14:29; 1 Peter 1:19-21) When a nonbeliever sees a prediction made hundreds or a thousand years before the actual event took place and it comes to pass, this statistically impossible event will bring power to the word of God. But if you are a head of a church and want that power and want people to look to you as the guide and ultimate authority then what is the mode of strategy? Destroy the scriptures. Destroy it literally by taking it from the people or destroy its power by changing its words.
Before prophecy is unfolded the individual seeking to understand prophecy needs to know that God does not work off of man’s time. God defines His own time and in order to understand what the Lord is trying to tell us we need to go off of His time table. Here are a few basic texts to define God’s time: Dividing of a Day Two parts evening and morning in that order. Gen. 1:5. Evening started the next day: Luke 23:54, Lev. 23:32 The day started with the evening not the morning. Weeks still consistent with creation A week is 7 days: Gen. 2:1-3, Ex. 20:11 Months New Moon Beginning of the Month Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Psa 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. Psa 81:3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. See also: 2 Chron. 8:13 (time based on new moon/phase of moon) Num 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God. Num 29:1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you. Psa 81:3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. The moon was the indicator for the months which is 29.5 days but the Bible reveals that you round up to 30 days. 30 Days in a Bible Month Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. Gen 8:2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; Gen 8:3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. Gen 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. Second month minus seventh month equals five months. Five months divided by 150 days which was the end when the waters abated is 30 days for each of the 5 months. 5/150=30 thirty days in each month b/c go off lunar cycle 30 x 12 months in year = 360 12 Months in a Year Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
