There are big changes happening in our family. The more you draw near to the Lord the more you want nothing of the world and its hypocrisies and lies. This is true for us with the holidays. Amid my time trying to get this website up and running I have been trying to figure out what to do with the holidays. In the last couple of months I have come to realize that the only holiday that does not have pagan (idol worship) roots is Thanksgiving. When I brought this new revelation to my husband he says to me, "Renie, we knew this. This is nothing knew." As I thought back to our earlier years of marriage I remembered him telling me we should not celebrate the holidays and it would be harder to get rid of when we had children. I wished I would have listened to him. The one that is the hardest for me to get over is Christmas. I recently realized (apparently for the second time) that December 25th is the day in which Tammuz's birthday is and is actually celebrating the birth of a false god which in turn is really celebrating the birth of satan. When I watched the videos that shed light on this holiday and many others I was disgusted with myself for being fooled, and thinking that it was ok to celebrate something evil as long as we put a Christian name to it. The Bible tells us in 2Kings 17:33 that Israel worshiped the Lord but "served their own gods" which is one of the reasons that led to the punishment from God and they went into captivity. Reading the chapter you will find out that they celebrated the holidays, or holydays, of the nations around them even to the point of sacrificing their children on the altar, verse 31. I do not want to sacrifice my children on the alter of these pagan holidays so we are making new traditions and casting off the old cankered ones. This is a process and we are still trying to figure things out. If you want to understand us and why we are doing what we are doing you can watch these links. The last video gives you ideas on what to do for alternatives, which was really nice for me. I am choosing not to be ruled by fear and move forward knowing that God is bigger than these holidays and will fill our family with Him as we search for truth and walk by faith.

THERE WAS A GREAT CELEBRATION WHEN JESUS WAS BORN.....YOU KNOW THE STORY....THE ANGELS SANG...THE SHEPARDS CAME....THE WISE MEN ETC. NOW I KNOW THAT JESUS WAS NOT BORN IN DECEMBER BUT IT DOES SEEM TO ME THAT IT IS NOT A BAD THING THAT THE RELIGIOUS WORLD CELEBRATES THE BIRTH OF JESUS. OF COURSE, I DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL THE COMMERCIAL SIDE OF THIS TIME OF YEAR WITH EMPYSIS ON GIFT GIVING ETC. EVEN ELLEN WHITE DID NOT ADVISE TO IGNORE THE HOLIDAY COMPLETELY. THIS IS JUST A FEW THOUGHTS I HAD WHEN I READ YOUR COMMENTS. THINK JESUS, THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD......NOT SATAN.....HE CAME AND CONQUERED SATAN AND AM THANKFUL HE IS IN CHARGE NOW!!!

Thanks for the feedback Sonya about the print. This whole website is extremely new to me and I think I figured out how to increase the font. You think it would be easy but some of the tools are preset and it takes a bit to go in and change them. As far as Christmas I have read the quotes in which you are referring to but am moving forward in my walk with Christ based on conviction and truth. I do not have hard feelings towards those that continue in this event. I feel that I would be a hypocrite in telling others to not keep a pagan day holy i.e. Sunday as the Sabbath instead of the true Sabbath (Saturday) yet continue to practice and participate in other pagan holidays. If I am to prepare myself to give the loud cry I need to be laying aside all hypocrisy and follow Christ in all things. The people who justify keeping Sunday holy use the same rational that I find I was using to celebrate Christmas. That is that what does it matter if I am celebrating and worshiping Christ? We know that it does matter. The fact that my family is not celebrating Christmas like the rest of the world does not mean that we do not believe that Jesus conquered satan and that Christ is not in charge. Quite the contrary, I believe Christ is in charged and conquered and He wants us to conquer as well through His Spirit which is why we have the strength to put off the things of the world. Right now it just happens to be Christmas.

Great personal perspective on why not to celebrate Christmas. Many christians already know the 25th December is not really Christ’s birthday, yet they still persist on celebrating the day as a higher spiritual meaning of His birth. Thought… If someone (lets say that person is your arch enemy) gave a celebration for your son’s birthday on a date other than that of his birthday and insisted on celebrating for the mere reason of him being born, but at the same time maligning his character and using the day for his personal agenda you would have great difficulty in accepting such an offer. This is what Satan has deceived the world with, let us not look at the reason for the season but the season itself.

Thanks for your encouragement and incites. We are all on a journey aren't we. My prayer for those around me is that they are walking towards Christ in whatever manner that He leads them and that I would lead by example. God bless. Renie
